Artist Statment

After twenty-five years as a registered nurse -- most of them in the unpredictable rhythm of an emergency department -- I've come to understand that chaos has it's own kind of order. My work as an abstract painter has come from that realization. The energy, unpredictability, and intensity of those years inform every brushstroke and texture I lay down in acrylic and mixed media.

In the ER moments of crisis coexist with moments of quiet humanity; I bring that same tension to the canvas. My paintings explore how beauty can emerge from disorder, and how even in the most turbulent spaces, there is a pulse of hope and renewal. Layers of paint, paper, and texture act as both barriers and bridges -- symbolic of the emotional boundaries we create to survive and connect.

Through abstract, I aim to translate what words cannot: the emotional residue of a life spent witnessing both a release and a reconstruction -- a visual reminder that from chaos, something luminous can still arise.
